The Oscyl will perform the film score of ‘The new Babylon’

09/21/2017.- As in previous years, the 62nd edition of the Valladolid International Film Festival will be hosting a new extraordinary concert to accompany a film screening: an event organised in collaboration with the regional government of Castile and Leon and involving the participation of the Miguel Delibes Cultural Centre and Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra (Oscyl).

Conducted by Damian Iorio, the Oscyl will perform the score composed by Dmitri Shostakövich for the Russian silent film classic Novyy Vavilon (The New Babylon), directed in 1929 by Grigori Kózintsev and Leonid Trauberg.

This is the sixth year Seminci partners with Oscyl after the latter’s previous performances of musical accompaniments to Metropolis (Fritz Lang), The Assassination of the Duke of Guise (André Calmettes and Charles Le Bargy), Snow White (Pablo Berger), Battleship Potemkin (Sergei M. Eisenstein) and Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror (Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau).

The concert will take place on Friday 27th October at 8 pm in the Sala Sinfónica of the Miguel Delibes Cultural Centre.

Ticket prices will range between 14 and 22 EUR.
