Homage to Martin Patino at the 62nd Seminci

Basilio Martín Patino, at his last visit to Seminci in 2012

13/8/2017.- Basilio Martín Patino (29 October, 1930 – 13 August 2017) was one of the Spanish filmmakers most closely associated to the Valladolid International Film Week, a fact that is especially significant for someone who admitted that “I do not like festivals.” He uttered these words after collecting the Spike of Honor at the closing of the 47th Week, held in 2002, which dedicated a full retrospective to him including all his short films, full-length films, and works for television, in addition to a book written by Juan Antonio Pérez Millán and a roundtable discussion.

The Valladolid International Film Week will pay tribute to the Salamancan director at its upcoming edition. More specifically, the Castilla León Film Day, which will take place on Monday, October 23rd, will showcase one of his emblematic films, the title of which will be announced in the near future.
