09/13/2018.- The Academia de Cine hosted the launch of the book from the Independent Distribution Conference held during the 62nd edition of Valladolid International Film Festival last year, which was coordinated by Fernando Lara with journalist César Combarros as secretary. The coordinators produced an extensive summary of the content and conclusions of the conference, which has been published as a book (‘El espíritu de Valladolid’).
The launch was also attended by Miguel Morales, president of ADICINE, and Juan Carlos Tous from FILMIN, as well as the director of the International Film Festival, Javier Angulo. Among the audience were Mariano Barroso, director of the Academia de Cine, and Jacobo Martín Fernández (Assistant General Director for Promotion and International Relations at the ICAA).
The event brought together the top managers of independent distributors in Spain, who were joined by distribution representatives and public and private television operators. The aim of the event was to discuss the present and future of the film industry, in a context marked by the emergence of new distribution and screening platforms, and to detect issues and establish potential solutions. After the conference, a document containing twenty conclusions was drawn up and presented at the festival, and these conclusions also appear in the book.
