For yet another year, the International Film Festival of Valladolid (Seminci) appears among the best cultural initiatives of 2016 according to the Culture Observatory of Fundación Contemporánea.
In the results that have been published, Seminci appears in 27th position, along with other cultural proposals from the region, such as the Contemporary Art Museum of Castilla y León (MUSAC) in 41st position and the Hay Festival of Segovia in 49th position.
In the ranking by autonomous communities drawn up by sector professionals in Castilla y León, Seminci appears as the most outstanding event in the region.
The Culture Observatory’s aim is to gauge the cultural sector to analyse trends and identify gaps and opportunities for action. Since 2009, it has conducted an annual survey to develop a set of indicators on the cultural activity of the different autonomous communities and cities, institutions and the most important cultural events of the year.
The survey involves a panel of experts, more specifically 361 in this edition, made up of professionals in our culture: writers, artists, directors, actors and actresses, musicians, architects and creators from all fields; managers of foundations, museum directors, cultural centres and institutions; editors, producers, developers, gallery owners and managers of cultural industries; curators, cultural managers and sector professionals, as well as those responsible for cultural departments and institutions of the central, regional and municipal public administrations.
