‘Sigo acá’: love over sickness

10/25/2017. – Chilean director Tana Gilbert presented her short documentary Sigo acá (Still Here), which looks at disease through the relationship between Julia (87) and Johnny (56), mother and son.

They only have each other. Johnny struggles with mental instability, yet has to care for his mother, who suffers from memory loss, by doing things such as combing her hair and singing to her.

The short documentary, which competes in the History Time section of the 62nd edition of the Valladolid International Film Week, was shown this Wednesday at the Cervantes Theatre.
