Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz, director of ‘Mi querida cofradía’

10/24/2018 – On Wednesday 24th October, the Spanish Cinema section at the 63rd edition of the Valladolid International Film Festival screened the film Mi querida cofradía, the debut feature by Malagan director Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz, who visited Valladolid on Wednesday alongside producer Aintza Serra to present her work.

Mi querida cofradía focuses on Carmen, an apostolic Catholic from Málaga who is poised to become the president of her confraternity. However, she is bitterly disappointed when the group chooses Ignacio, her biggest rival. Far from accepting the decision, she becomes embroiled in a predicament which seems never-ending. She has half the village in her house, the other half in the street, and everybody needs her. But she just wants things to change, and she’s determined to make it happen. Her first feature film won the Audience Award and the Silver Biznaga for best supporting actress (Carmen Flores) at Málaga Film Festival.
