The green carpet and the accreditation office inaugurated

Óscar Puente, the Mayor of Valladolid

10/19/2018.- Óscar Puente, the Mayor of Valladolid; Ana Redondo, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism; and Javier Angulo, the Director of the Valladolid International Film Festival, walked the green carpet today which will decorate the city until 27 October, when the 63rd edition of Seminci comes to a close. This was followed by the inauguration of the Accreditation Office at the Teatro Calderón, where they collected their badges for the 63rd edition.

As is tradition on the eve of the official festival opening, the party strolled the streets dressed for Seminci and took the opportunity to congratulate all those involved for their hard work on a “well-established adventure”.

In statements made to the press, Óscar Puente announced the visit of Queen Letizia on Friday, 26 October. This is the first time a member of the Spanish royal family will attend the Valladolid International Film Festival. “We saw Her Majesty the Queen, who boasts of being a keen cinemagoer, with Martin Scorsese, and she further demonstrates this by her visit to the festival”, the mayor confirmed.

Meanwhile, Ana Redondo, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, made special mention of the Forum on Women in Spanish Cinema, which takes place on Sunday, 21 October. “This is a festival committed to equality and women”, she highlighted.

Lastly, Javier Angulo pointed out that “ticket sales are up 15% on last year”, and has set the challenge of exceeding the figure of 96,000 spectators reached in the last edition.
